I’ve spent two days in Georgius. That ancient airship has drawn me further than I ever imagined. My old life is but a distant memory. This crusade has left me lonely. (from Dragon Book 3 (Diary of the Dragon Rider))
Lundi tucked himself under Lagi's enormous wing, leaning against his dragon's side. Lagi was warm even with the armor covering his body. When Lagi was a newborn coolia, Lundi slept in the stable with him against his chest, wrapped in a blanket to protect them from the elements and from the eyes of the villagers who'd want Lagi destroyed if they knew he was alive.
Now Lagi was large enough to return the favor; as if sensing this he shifted his wing so it made a better covering from the wind.
Lundi hadn't spoken to another human in days. He spoke to Lagi when he was truly lonely, and even then it was about stories of his childhood in Elpis, myths, and comments about the weather or flying. Everything below that he kept to himself.
